Nazarbayev believes that Kazakhstan business is not active enough, Tengrinews.kz reports from the meeting of Kazakhstan President with the representatives of small and medium business in Astana. "Its share in the GDP went up from 17 to 21 percent last year. Why did that happen? First of all, of course, the mining industry and the volumes are growing and business often finds its hard to promptly catch up. On the other hand, there is not as much business activity going on as desired, although we are creating all possible conditions for you," Kazakhstan President said at the meeting on entrepreneurship development. "During all the years of independence the Government and I have been daily watching that all the conditions are created for normal development of business. We have to do it in the market economy. I am setting a task: to ensure that small and medium business are responsible for 40 percent of the economy by 2020. We need even more than than if we look at other countries's experience," Nazarbayev said. By Renat Tashkinbayev
