Tengrinews.kz – Thailand has shortened the visa-free stay for foreigners from 60 to 30 days.
This was reported by the kingdom’s state department.
"Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra has recently ordered a revision of the visa-free entry scheme after finding that some visitors have violated the law, such as overstaying and working illegally.
Related agencies, including the Foreign Affairs Ministry, Interior Ministry, and Tourism and Sports Ministry, have been urged to study the scheme’s impact, especially the appropriate duration of stays, so that it would meet its objective, which is to promote tourism," the statement said.
Currently, citizens of 93 countries and territories are eligible for visa-free entry for tourism or urgent business trips for up to 60 days, with the possibility of extending the stay for no more than 30 additional days.
Earlier, it was reported that starting from May 1, 2025, the entry procedure to Thailand will change for all foreign nationals, including citizens of Kazakhstan — instead of the familiar TM.6 paper arrival card, travelers will now need to complete a Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC).
