Tengrinews.kz - President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev met with General Asim Munir, Chief of Army Staff of the Pakistan Armed Forces, at the Akorda presidential residence, citing Akorda press service.
During the meeting, the sides discussed cooperation in the field of defense and military education, as well as the broader development of bilateral ties.
“Kassym-Jomart Tokayev emphasized that Kazakhstan considers Pakistan an important partner in South Asia. He noted the positive momentum in bilateral relations. According to the President, both countries have significant potential to enhance economic cooperation, including in trade, transport, and logistics,” the statement said.
General Asim Munir conveyed greetings to the Kazakh leader from the Prime Minister of Pakistan, Shehbaz Sharif. He also noted the positive trend in defense cooperation between Kazakhstan and Pakistan.
“The sides highlighted the importance of giving additional impetus to their cooperation and fully realizing the existing opportunities across various sectors of mutual interest,” Akorda added.
Earlier, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev congratulated the people of Kazakhstan on National Book Day.
