Tengrinews.kz – A project to build a suspended cableway in Shymkent was presented to the city's Akim, Gabit Syzdykbekov, according to the press service of the city administration.
During the discussion, preliminary routes, possible technological solutions, and estimated stages of design and construction were reviewed. The planned aerial transport route will gradually connect Respublika Avenue, Tauke Khan, Konaev, Baidibek Bi, the Citadel, Abylai Khan, as well as the Turan and Shymkent City neighborhoods.
It is noted that the implementation of the project will "improve population mobility, reduce the load on the street-road network—especially in densely built-up areas with heavy traffic—and become a new attraction for tourists."
"The launch of the project will open new opportunities for integrating modern solutions into the urban environment, stimulate the development of surrounding areas, and create additional jobs both during the construction phase and in the operational period," the statement reads.
The akimat also noted that the initiative is being carried out in accordance with the instructions of the Head of State, voiced during his recent working visit to Shymkent, aimed at developing social, infrastructure, and transport projects.
