Tengrinews.kz – President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has expressed his condolences following the death of Pope Francis, calling him a tireless advocate for justice, compassion, and interfaith harmony.
“I express my deepest condolences on the passing of His Holiness Pope Francis. The Pontiff was an extraordinary spiritual leader who spared no effort to promoting the noble ideals of humanism, justice and compassion,” Tokayev wrote on his official X (formerly Twitter) account.
The President recalled with warmth his personal meetings with the pontiff and highlighted Pope Francis’ historic apostolic visit to Kazakhstan in 2022, describing it as a symbol of tolerance and mutual understanding.

Pope Francis passed away on April 21 at the age of 88 in his Vatican residence, Casa Santa Marta.
In January 2024, President Tokayev paid an official visit to the Vatican at the Pope’s invitation, where he thanked the pontiff for his unwavering dedication to global peace and human development.
