Tengrinews.kz - The Kazakhstan national sports climbing team concluded its performance at the Asian Championships with two silver medals.

According to Olympic.kz, Kazakhstan's Amir Maimuratov and Tamara Ulzhabaeva won silver in the "Speed" discipline at the tournament held in Tai'an, China. Another Kazakh athlete, Rishat Khaibullin, lost in the battle for third place.

The Asian Championships in sports climbing took place in China from October 9 to 14. Japanese athletes became champions in four of the six disciplines, while representatives from China won in the other two. The Kazakhstan team secured third place in the overall standings.

It is worth noting that Amir Maimuratov set an Olympic record during the Paris Olympic qualifying rounds but did not advance to the semifinals. Even before the qualification ended, his record was surpassed by Veddriq Leonardo from Indonesia. Five days before the start of the Olympics, the 29-year-old Kazakh athlete declared himself the champion of the Paris Games.
