Kazakhstan President Nursultan Nazarbayev visited Hyundai Auto Trans car-assembling company during his work trip to Almaty oblast, KazTAG reports. Head of Astana Group Nurlan Smagulov presented the car-assembling company Hyundai Auto Trans to Nazarbayev. The President checked the shop for SKD assembly of light-weight cargo cars based on Hyundai commercial vehicles. The President also signed in the first passenger bus Hyundai County that was assembled along with SKD 4 technology. On January 2011 Astana Motors started SKD assembling of light-weight cargo cars based on Hyundai commercial vehicles with a transition to a higher technological level of production under SKD 4 scheme. Investments into the project on creation of Hyundai Auto Trans exceeeded 1 billion tenge ($6.7 million). Hyundai Auto Trans specializes in assembling of Hyundai light-weight cargo cars and special vehicles from sets supplied from South Korea. The company’s territory is 102 thousand square meters. The production area of the first stage is 7.1 thousand square meters. The area of production facilities is to be increased to 9.8 thousand square meters by 2015. According to the company’s plan, over 1 thousand cars will be produced in 2012. Over 400 of them will be exported to Belarus, Russia and Central Asian countries.
