Kazakhstan weightlifting team won a gold medal in the IFW (International Federation of Weightlifting) Youth World Championship held in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, on April 5-14, Sports.kz reports. Kazakhstan’s 69kg bodyweight category weightlifter Albert Linder, resident of Almaty oblast, won gold for the Kazakhstan national team. He lifted 295 kilograms in total after two exercises (135 kg in snatch and 160 kg in clean and jerk). Egypt’s Ahmed Adel Mohamed, who lifted up 289 kilograms, became second. Mikhail Makeyev brought the first medal to Kazakhstan’s team on April 10. He won bronze in the 62kg bodyweight category in the Tashkent Championship.
