Kazakhstan figure skater Denis Ten, who won silver at the World Championship in Canada, gave an interview to Sports Illustrated magazine right after the tournament. "Worlds was amazing," Ten said. "Every year this is the competition everybody is looking forward to. I was waiting for this moment so long," the figure skater said. The 19-y.o. athlete wrote in his Twitter that his dream had come true. “I can’t believe that it happened only a couple of minutes ago. Thanks to everyone for your support,” Denis tweeted. Denis Ten scored 266.48 points in total for his short and free programs and won the silver medal that has became the first award in figure skating over the history of independent Kazakhstan. The figure skater, coached by Frank Carroll, chose music from Artist movie for his free skating program. Canada’s Patrick Chan won the World Championship for the third time. He was behind Ten in the free skating program, however, he scored more points overall after two programs. "I'm thankful for that beautiful short program I did the other day," he told the crowd in a post-skate interview that was shown on the arena scoreboard. "Maybe I'm just saving it for the Olympics." Spain’s Javier Fernandez got the third place.
