Tengrinews.kz – France has expressed readiness to support the European Union’s visa facilitation process for Kazakh citizens, according to Polisia.kz.
This was announced during talks between Kazakhstan’s Minister of Internal Affairs Erzhan Sadenov and French Interior Minister Bruno Retailleau in Paris.
The meeting focused on enhancing cooperation in migration control, including implementation of the 2023 readmission agreement, as well as information exchange and crime prevention.
During his visit, Sadenov also met with Interpol Secretary General Jurgen Stock at the organization’s headquarters in Lyon. They discussed collaboration on international investigations, fraud, cybercrime, and access to Interpol databases.
Earlier, EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, European Commission Vice-President Kaja Kallas informed President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev that the EU had launched the procedure to ease visa issuance for Kazakhstan.
Tokayev welcomed the initiative, noting it would strengthen people-to-people ties and business relations with European countries.
