Samruk-Kazyna Fund will support Kazakhstan figure skater Denis Ten, Vesti.kz reports. The figure skater announced this during his visit to Astana, where he came to meet his family. He is very pleased that Samruk-Kazyna Fund is going to support him. The figure skater said that it was likely that he would skip the International Skating Union’s competition NRW Trophy that starts on December 5 in Germany. Denis Ten said that he had injured his foot and would not recover before that competition. However, Ten hoped that if he felt better, he would take part in Kazakhstan Figure Skating Championship in Astana in the end of December. He was also going to take part in the Four Continents Figure Skating Championship in February and in World Championship in March. The figure skater has started preparing for the Winter Olympic Games in Sochi both morally and physically. There is only one year left before the Games. “I had some experience in the Vancouver Olympic Games, but I was just a teenager then and didn’t fully realize the importance of that tournament. And this summer I watched Olympic Games and saw the overwhelming results of Kazakhstan national team. These results inspired me and I realized that this would be a very big and important tournament,” Ten said. Ten was ranked ninth at the recent Moscow Figure Skating Grand Prix. He became 16th in the International Skating Union rating and 7th at the Nice World Championship, where he showed the best result in his career.
