For getting into the third round of the Women’s Singles at the US Open, Diyas earned $105 thousand. She got additional $62 thousand for making it to the quarterfinals of the Women’s Doubles. All in all, Diyas earned $527 thousand this year.
The 20 y.o. tennis player has earned $700 thousand since she played her first professional match in an ITF event in Bratislava in 2007, but most of it - $500 thousand - came this year. Diyas is ranked 2nd by prize money among Kazakhstani tennis professionals after Yaroslava Shvedova who earned $556 thousand this year.
2014 was a breakthrough for Diyas. She started in the main draw of the Grand Slam. At the Australia Open, the Kazakh tennis player reached the third round while at French Open she lost in the first round. At Wimbledon, Diyas got to the 1/8 finals.
In the end of 2013, Diyas ranked 163rd in the WTA ranking, whereas now she is up to the 48th place in the ranking. After competeting at the US Open, Diyas is predicted to reach the Top 40.
At the US Open, Diyas defeated 15 y.o Catherina Bellis from the U.S. and will face Ekaterina Makarova from Russia in the third round.
