Tengrinews.kz - President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev chaired a Security Council meeting focused on economic issues amid growing instability in global markets, according to Akorda.
During the meeting, held under Tokayev’s leadership, participants discussed a response strategy to recent shifts in global markets driven by tariff disputes.
Reports were presented by Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov, National Bank Chairman Timur Suleimenov, and other senior officials from relevant government agencies.
Tokayev noted that the current global economic environment is unstable and demands readiness for various future scenarios.

"The government’s task is to prevent a decline in living standards, sustain economic growth, and maintain the inflow of investment," the President stated.
He emphasized that global crises often bring not only challenges but also new opportunities for development.
Tokayev outlined several strategic directions aimed at strengthening Kazakhstan’s economic, transport and logistics, and human resource potential.
He stressed the importance of staying committed to large-scale infrastructure projects and the country's digitalization agenda, calling them key pillars of Kazakhstan’s economic policy.
"We must fulfill our core social obligations to the population and continue implementing vital infrastructure initiatives," Tokayev said.
Special attention was also given to improving monetary policy approaches and ensuring financial stability.
Following the meeting, the President issued a number of specific instructions to government bodies.
