Tengrinews.kz - Spring is one of the most enchanting seasons in Almaty, and Kazakhstani photographer Dmitry Dotsenko has managed to capture its full charm in a series of atmospheric shots taken around the city in April.
Dotsenko shared the photos on his Instagram page, where they quickly gained traction and admiration from his followers. The vibrant images resonated with many users who praised the beauty of spring in Kazakhstan’s southern capital.

A video version posted on TikTok is also racking up views and likes. Users there echoed the sentiment that spring is a special season in the city.
“Going to see the blossoms tomorrow,” “How cool,” and “Season of awakening, season of love,” read some of the comments.

Instagram users were just as inspired. Some, however, lamented that the fleeting nature of spring and the demands of work might prevent them from enjoying it fully.
“The real beauty of spring,” “How beautiful,” “At least I can see it in photos. By the time I get out there, everything will have faded,” and “Such a contrast between the snowy mountains and spring on the ground,” wrote commenters under the post.
Dotsenko told Tengrinews.kz that he took the images about a week ago but decided to publish them only recently.
“The video was filmed a week ago during the apricot blossom in and around Almaty. It features mountains, flowering trees, and cityscapes. It took me three days to shoot, using my Sony camera and a DJI drone,” he said.
He also noted that he doesn’t have a favorite season.
“As a landscape photographer, I appreciate all seasons—each has its own unique beauty. But spring is especially dear to me. It’s a season of renewal, joy, and hope,” he added.
