The Supreme Eurasian Council is having a meeting in Astana, Tengrinews reports. The meeting of the Council, the supreme body of the Customs Union and the Common Economic Space, started in a narrow format with only Kazakhstan President and Prime-Ministers of Kazakhstan, Russia and Belarus taking part, but later was followed by an extended meeting where Kazakhstan's Serik Akhmetov, Russia's Dmitry Medvedev and Belarus' Mikhail Myasnikovich were joined by Prime-Ministers of Kyrgyzstan and Ukraine. "I hope that the today's meeting will be held in the spirit of our traditional mutual understanding and mutually beneficial decisions will be made," he said before the meeting. The Prime-Ministers met with Kazakhstan President Nursultan Nazarbayev before the council session. He said that discussion of the further development of the Customs Union and the Common Economic Space was the Council's agenda, as well as admission of new members.
