Nazarbayev invites foreign businesses to contribute to construction of EXPO-2017 facilities

Nazarbayev has invited foreign businesses to contribute to construction of EXPO-2017 facilities, a Tengrinews.kz journalist reports, citing President Nazarbayev as saying January 18 when meeting the diplomatic corps and representatives of international organizations in Kazakhstan. On behalf of Kazakhstan President passed gratitude to other countries’ leadership for support to Kazakhstan’s bid for hosting the EXPO-2017 in Astana. “We will do the utmost to implement this project of international scale. We have already started the prep works. I am inviting foreign businesses to contribute to construction of EXPO-2017 facilities”, he said. “This will be a laboratory for early steps towards the third industrial revolution. (…) new technology, new energy sources, green power industry will be an addition to the Kazakhstan’s capital city”, he said. Expo 2017 is the next scheduled International Exposition after Expo 2015 and will be the first of its type since Expo 2012. The expos in 2010, 2015, 2020 and every 5 years thereafter are considered "universal expos" by the Bureau of International Expositions (BIE) and the 2017 event will be one of the "recognized" expos with a specialized theme that alternate with the "universal expos" (Kazakhstan’s theme will be future energy).
