Kazakhstani racer Lubov Andreyeva, 17, has officially become a part of the Astana Motorsports, Tengrinews reports citing Vesti.kz. She will compete in Formula 1 on behalf of the national team.

The Astana Motorsports is a part of the Professional Presidential Sports Club Astana. Andreyeva was presented as a new member by the General Manager of the Astana Artur Ardavichus.

“The Astana Club has decided to launch a new category - speed racing. The best racer in Kazakhstan in this category, as a mater of fact, is a young lady. Her name is Lyubov Andreyeva. We have analyzed her results. She is the best in Kazakhstan and worthy to represent our country and the Astana club on the international sports arena. I wish her good luck and victories. Our plan is to get into Formula 1 with Andreyeva,” Ardavichus said.

According to the General Manager of the club, with a successful strategy the racer will be able to compete in Formula 1 in five years time.

Lyubov started kart racing at the age of nine and won her first title two years later. She debuted in Formula Russia in Moscow in May this year  becoming the first Kazakhstani even to participate. She finished fifth in the first race and fourth in the second race. Next year, Andreyeva will continue in Russian Formula Masters, which is internationally classified as Formula 3.
