Tengrinews.kz - Kazhydromet has issued an air pollution warning for residents of Almaty and two other cities.
"On November 12, 2024, unfavorable meteorological conditions for air pollution are expected in Almaty, Aktobe, and overnight in Atyrau," the announcement reads.
In Almaty, November 12 will see partly cloudy skies with no precipitation. Winds will be southeast at 2-7 meters per second, with temperatures of 1-3°C at night and 8-10°C during the day.
Unfavorable meteorological conditions are defined by a combination of short-term weather factors (calm, light winds, fog, and inversion) that contribute to the accumulation of harmful pollutants in the lower atmosphere.
Forecasters have predicted the weather in Kazakhstan for November 12, 13 and 14.
Earlier, meteorologists provided an outlook for the winter weather across Kazakhstan, forecasting frequent shifts between warm and frosty days, with snowfall expected and rain mixed with snow in southwestern and southern regions. The month will also see gusty winds, blizzards, icy conditions, and fog.
