Astana costs over 600 thousand tenge per minute, Tengrinews.kz reports citing Astana Akim (Mayor). “Three square meters of housing are built in Astana every minute, 650 thousand tenge ($4,392) are spent for the city's maintenance, the city consumes 7,200 kW of energy and 100 cubic meters of water. All that in one minute. Five trees are planted every hour in Astana, while 11 hectares of forests are cut every minute worldwide,” Akim told the citizens. On February 9 Astana Mayor held an annual meeting with the citizens. Imangali Tasmagambetov stood on the stage for almost four hours. He told about the city’s development and answered the citizens’ questions.
