Law-enforcement authorities demonstrated the arms seized from the rioters and from sites of the clashes in Zhanaozen, Tengrinews.kz reports. The arms were demonstrated to Kazakhstan and foreign media during an press trip to Zhanaozen. Laying out cold steel and fire arms in one of the offices of Zhanaozen Interior Department, the policemen said that it was not everything that had been seized from the sites of the clashes and found in several buildings. According to the officers, the bandits were pouring the flammable liquid into bottles from kettles right at the square on December 16. Earlier Amanzhol Kabylov, Zhanaozen superintendant and head of Mangistau oblast Interior Department said that “lots of arms” were seized. The superintendant also assured that special prosecutors and the Internal Security Department were investigating into the use of weapons by law-enforcement officers.
