Currently, Kazakhstan’s #1 bantamweight boxer resides on the 3rd place in the WBA ranking. The 31 y.o. is the holder of the WBC Eurasia Pacific Boxing Council and EBU Championship titles.
The WBA Super World bantamweight title belongs to Juan Carlos Payano from the Dominican Republic, while a British boxer Jamie McDonnell holds the WBA World bantamweight title.
In February, in the World Boxing Council rating, Zhakiyanov stood as the Number 1 contender to Shinsuke Yamanaka’s WBC bantamweight. But Zhakiyanov lost his place in the updated WBC rating to British Lee Haskins.
Zhakiyanov’s last fight took place in Queensland, Australia against Roberto Lerio. The 31 y.o. Kazakhstani KOed his opponent in the second round.
