Tennis: Zarina Dias of Kazakhstan reaches ITF finals in China

Zarian Dias, a tennis professional from Kazakhstan, has made it into the finals of the ITF tournament in Guangzhou, China, Tengrinews reports citing Vesti.kz. Zarina Dias faced Russian Kseniya Pervak, the tournament’s No.4 tennis professional, in the semi-finals. Before changing her citizenship, Pervak represented Kazakhstan. Pervak refused to continue the match against the Kazakh tennis player after the score was 6:1, 3:1 in favor of Dias. Zarina Dias is the tournament’s No.1 tennis professional and holds the 118th place in the Women's Tennis Association (WTA) ranking. Russian Pervak is in the 166th place in the WTA ranking. Recently, Zarina Dias of Kazakhstan improved her standing in the WTA ranking, advancing 40 lines, from the 152nd to the 112th place. Sports.ru website tagged Zarina Dias the Girl of the Day after her performance at the Australia Open, where she got into the 3rd round of the Grand Slam. Sports.ru considered the 20-y.o. Kazakhstan tennis player a sensation of the Australia Open.
