For us, the sportsmen who think about the coming Olympic games, it is very important to know that these is nothing impossible for you if you do your best and believe in yourself. In the last games our team was in the top 30 of the world’s best sport teams. We have to prove in London that this success was not accidental,“ Olympics champion Ilya Ilyin said on behalf of the whole team. The state coach of Kazakhstan national weightlifting team Aleksey Ni said that Kazakhstan’s national weightlifting team is a „combination of experience and youth: it contains four sportsmen and all of them are stars“. He assured the President that he will do his best to get Kazakhstan weightlifters into top 3 best sportsmen after Russia and China. "But it is possible that we will give them hell as well,“ he added. Nazarbayev replied that he knew many of the team’s sportsmen from the Beijing Olympics, where the President went to support Kazakhstan athletes.
