Kazakhstan boxer Gennady Golovkin, WBA middleweight champion, has decided on his next rival. American Gabriel Rosado will fight against Golovkin of Kazakhstan, Vesti.kz reports. “This bout will be held on January 19, 2013 at the Madison Square Garden ring in New York. Rosado won his last seven bouts and he is one of the most significant middleweight rivals at present,” Vesti.kz reports. Earlier Tengrinews.kz whote that 30-y.o. Golovkin became the only WBA middleweight champion after the World Boxing Association (WBA) made a decision to strip Daniel Geale of his super champion middleweight title. The 31-y.o. Australia’s boxer, who got the title when he won over former WBA super champion Felix Sturm decided to dodge the obligatory defense of the title. Kazakhstan boxer Golovkin knocked out Poland’s Grzegorz Proksa in the fifth round of his last bout. Earlier it was reported that Gennady Golovkin was looking for his would-be rival. Fernando Guerrero, Edwin Rodriguez and Thomas Oosthuizen were named Golovkin’s possible rivals.
