Kazakhstan Astana Arlans boxing club won over Mexico Guerreros in the first World Series of Boxing (WSB) semifinal match, Vesti.kz reports. Kazakhstan’s Meirbolat Toitov and Mexican Elias Emigdio fought the 54kg bout that was the first match of the day in Mexico City. Astana Arlans boxer prevailed in four rounds out of five and brought the first winning point to the Kazakhstan boxing club. Then the situation changed for the worse for Astana Arlans club. Kazakhstan’s Yerzhan Mussafirov (61kg) and Abuyazit Ugurchiyev (73kg) lost to Luis Daniel Flores Norberto and Marvin Cabrera correspondingly. Astana Arlans legionnaire, Croatian Hrvoje Sep evened the score of the match by winning over Mexico’s Isaac Munoz and another Croatian boxer caped for Kazakhstan Filip Hrgovic brought the third point to the Kazakhstan club by defeating Puerto-Rican Gerardo Miguel. The match ended with the score of 3:2. The return match will be held in Almaty on April 20. The tournament will start 8 p.m. Astana time.
