Kazakhstan government will increase financing of the promising scientific researches, Tengrinews.kz reports citing Kazakhstan’s President Nursultan Nazarbayev’s State of the Nation Address. “The government needs to strengthen Kazakhstan’s innovative system. It is important to increase budget expenses on financing of promising scientific researches via innovative grants. The new law On Science lays down the foundation for the systematic state support for our science. It is necessary to support Kazakhstan’s scientists. Innovative-intellectual claster promoting transfer and creation of new technologies has to be formed in the new university in Astana. Opening of high-tech companies in Astana will help us spread this experience on other scientific and educational centers of Kazakhstan. We have the legislative base: the new Law On state support of industrial-innovative activities. It has to be used for increasing innovative potential of the state, business and science. I instruct the government to develop a draft law on creation of new forms of state and private partnership,” the President said during his State-of-the-Union Address called Social-economic modernization as the main direction of Kazakhstan’s development. The President also spoke about commencement of new large-scale industrial projects. Summing up the industrial-innovative block, he said: “All the above will be our real response to the coming recessions. There will be a crisis in the world and we are making Kazakhstan a giant construction site. Construction industry, metallurgy, woodworking, etc. will be developed to complement residential housing construction and creation of large companies. Thousands and thousands of new opportunities are being created for young businessmen and I think they will not miss this chance. I suggest creating a special commission to control the expenses on performance of these tasks. This commission will be similar to the one that effectively worked during the crisis of 2008-2009 and proved its efficiency. We did not miss a single tenge back then,” the President said.
