Eurasian integration will never be targeted at reincarnating the USSR, President Nazarbayev stated when meeting the diplomatic corps January 18. “We will keep moving to the common goals (…) I want to reiterate that the Eurasian integration that I support has never been and will never be targeted at reincarnating any political unions like the collapsed USSR (…) Eurasian integration is our answer to the 3rd global industrial revolution (…) we seek to make a joint break-through to new technologies, with Kazakhstan, Russia and Belarus being absolutely sovereign states with their own national interests”. According to him, any doubts over the integration’s purposes are groundless. “Integration is a common thing in many regions of the world. It is a necessity. Not a single nation, however powerful it may be, is able to survive isolated in a globalized world”, President Nazarbayev said.
