President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev has sent a telegram congratulating Islam Karimov on being re-elected President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Tengrinews reports citing the press service of Akorda.
The Kazakh leader pointed out that the election results demonstrated Islam Karimov’s widespread public support as recognition of his good policies of socio-economic development and strengthening of the country’s position in the international arena.
Nazarbayev also said he was confident that Uzbekistan would continue to follow the path of prosperity under the leadership of Karimov.
“I believe the fraternal relations between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan will further strengthen at the level of strategic partnership,” the telegram said.
In the end Nazarbayev wished the Uzbek President good health and success, as well as peace and prosperity to the people of Uzbekistan.
