Kazakhstan will launch an Agency for International Development, a Tengrinews.kz journalist reports, citing President Nazarbayev as saying January 18. “We are turning Almaty, [the biggest city in Kazakhstan] into a center of multilateral diplomacy in the region: the city is home to 16 representation offices of UN-related organizations, programs and funds. Now we are working to launch KAZAID, an Agency for International Development, to render technical assistance to neighboring countries and other states. We are ready to accommodate such an agency in either Astana or Almaty”, President said when meeting the diplomatic corps January 18. President emphasized that “Kazakhstan’s leadership will be doing everything in their power to make sure Eurasia’s heart beats smoothly and to the benefit of the regional and global development”.
