Fashion and modeling are sure to turn a girl’s head. But a Kazakh volleyball player, “too pretty for her own good” Sabina Altynbekova was not impressed. Or at least, she has turned down offers from a number of Taiwanese modeling agencies.
Several companies, including Breeze Center shopping malls network offered the 17 y.o. Kazakh athlete to become their face. Earlier, Sabina confirmed in an interview to Tengrinews TV that she did not see herself in modeling. She is a volleyball player, “a fighter at heart”, she said.
The strict upbringing could have had something to do with Sabina’s reaction to the offers from modeling agencies. Her mother has also clearly voiced her disapproval of her daughter's modeling opportunities on several occasions.
Sabina Altynbekova started gaining popularity at the volleyball championship in Taiwan in July that she participated in as a member of Kazakhstan’s junior volleyball team. The media has repeatedly expressed concerns that this sudden popularity could harm the athlete’s performance and future career in volleyball.
But Sabina is firm in her decision to follow along the path of volleyball.
