Kazakhstan has prolonged the ban on export of oil products into 2013, Tengrinews.kz reports citing Kazakhstanskaya Pravda newspaper. “To prevent critical deficit and prices growth at the domestic market of oil products, the government has decreed to introduce a 6-month ban on export of light distillate, kerosene, gas oils and other oil products, except for special petrol and common furnace oil,” the official message states. Kazakhstan government introduced the ban (first a 6-month ban) on export of a range of oil products in 2011 “to prevent oil products deficit, provide the harvest campaign with diesel fuel and in relation to scheduled repairs at Pavlodar oil refinery”. Before that Kazakhstan used to introduce a moratorium on oil products exports before the May sowing campaign in 2010.
