Tengrinews.kz - Members of The Society of American Travel Writers (SATW) have published a collection of travel notes "ALMATY Through American Eyes," according to Kazakh Tourism.
The publication highlights 5 unique cultural features of the country:
- Respect for the Seven Grandfathers (Zhety-ata)
- Belief in ancient rituals
- Etiquette in the yurt
- Chess culture
- The art of training birds to hunt
In 2023, Kazakh Tourism organized a press tour of Almaty and its environs for travel journalists and photographers from the United States. They decided to get acquainted with the main historical and tourist sites, and gastronomy, and also share their impressions of the trip to Kazakhstan in a collection.
"What a pleasure to visit and explore a corner of the rich nature, multicultural and peaceful country of Kazakhstan! I first read about the country in the course "World History" in high school. Even in high school, I would never have thought that I would have the opportunity to come to Kazakhstan. The articles and photographs in the book reflect our impressions and pleasant memories of this vibrant city and charming country," shares his thoughts one of the authors of the articles David Lang.
As Kazakh Tourism noted, journalists appreciated such picturesque places as the Charyn Canyon, Lake Kaindy, and the Beatles monument in Koktobe, as well as the hospitality of local residents.
