The economic crisis affected women more than men, Mojazarplata.kz press service reports citing a report of the International Trade Union Confederation. As per the report, the women lose jobs or have to shift to part-time jobs more often than men. In Kazakhstan in 2010 the wages of women in all professional areas were 1.1-2.1 times lower than the ones of men. During the first wave of the global crisis the men holding managerial positions were making $1,601, economists - $842, legal advisers - $774, programmers - $624, accountants - $618. The women’s wages at the same positions were $200-500 lower.
