Azerbaijan embassy in Kazakhstan has refuted the information that there was a citizen of Azerbaijan among the victims of the plane crash near Almaty, Interfax-Kazakhstan reports. “The transport prosecutors gave us a wrong information regarding the citizen of Azerbaijan who allegedly died in the plane crash. We requested the passport number of the alleged Azerbaijan citizen and it turned out that Akram Nizamov was a citizen of Uzbekistan,” Advisor to Azerbaijan Ambassador to Kazakhstan and Consul Shakhin Akhmedov told Interfax-Kazakhstan. According to the diplomat, Nizamov’s ethnic background was unclear. On January 29 the Bombardier airplane owned by Scat airline crashed during landing 7km from Almaty airport. According to the prosecutors, the plane was performing a Kokshetau-Almaty flight. The accident claimed lives of 5 crew members and 16 passengers.
