Participants and guests of the 7th film festival Eurasia have traditionally walked down the red carpet at the festival opening on September 19, Tengrinews.kz reports. The festival in Almaty is attended by the world celebrities: American actor John Cusack, Nastassja Kinski and a star of the Aliens and Avatar Sigourney Weaver. Professional and amateur film-makers, producers and movie critics are also taking part in the fest. Representatives of Kazakhstan show-business walked down the red carpet with their families this time. Actress and VJ Bayan Yessentayeva arrived with her 16-year-old daughter Aisaule, president of Kazakhfilm studio Yermek Amanshayev was accompanied by his family, popular singer Berkut appeared with his wife Aisha, violin-player Zhamilya Serkebayeva took a walk with her husband and Farkhat Abdraimov walked through the crowd of fans and photographers with his son. After a glary marche, everybody attended the opening night of the first Kazakhstan 3D movie Return to A. The event was attended by the movie director Yegor Konchalovskiy and the actresses playing leading parts in the movie Karlygash Mukhametzhanova and Asha Matai. September 20 famous movie critics and film-makers started watching and evaluating 12 movies participating in the festival. By the end of the week the jury of the International Federation of Film Critics (FIPRESCI) and the Network for the Promotion of Asian Cinema (NETPAC) headed by South-Korean movie director Kim Ki Duk will name the most successful movie in Eurasia. Kazakhstan is represented by 3 movies: Sunny Days by Nariman Turebayev, Realtor by Adilkhan Yerzhan and Japanese-Kazakhstan joint project Before Thunderstorm. The competition program started with Romanian movie Lover.
