Nazarbayev talked about the necessity of modernizing Kazakhstan's diplomatic services, Tengrinews.kz reports citing Kazakhstan President as saying at the meeting of the Foreign Ministry’s extended board. “It is important that every Kazakhstan diplomat remembers that external policy remains a logical continuation of the country’s internal policy. We have set the task of the systematic modernization of the country’s economy and social sector. Our diplomatic service has to undergo modernization as well. Solving strategic tasks and development of Kazakhstan define the necessity for clear and continuous work of the Foreign Ministry on coordination and effective implementation of the external policy course. We have things to work on: we have to improve Foreign Ministry and our embassies abroad,” the President said. The President then gave the details of Kazakhstan’s economic tasks. “Slowing down development of the leading economies of the world has to be considered a prelude for a new economic growth and a breakthrough. It will be based on unprecedented technological innovations and this will happen, I think, in the nearest decades, by 2050 for sure. This only emphasizes high importance of implementation of our course for industrial-innovative development and we have to hurry to level up with the global tasks, otherwise we are doomed to lag behind for several more decades. If we don’t get involved in this geoeconomic stream, we will remain on the sideway of the civilized development forever,” Nazarbayev stated. By Renat Tashkinbayev
