Kyrgyz farmers have started supplying fresh vegetables to south regions of Kazakhstan, Tengrinews.kz reports citing the press-service of the Ministry of Agriculture and Melioration of Kyrgyzstan. The agreement on supply of vegetables to Kazakhstan was signed by Ministry of Agriculture and Melioration of Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstani transport logistics center Sanzhar the day before in Shymkent. The agreement provides for 100 tons per week. Kyrgyz farmers will be delivering the vegetables directly to the state-run agriculture and food corporation AgroProdKorporatsiya to prevent middlemen from overpricing the products. Ministry of Agriculture of Kyrgyzstan said that potatoes, carrots and cabbage would be delivered to the southern regions of Kazakhstan by rail first and in the beginning of summer they would be followed by supplies of berries, melon and gourds.
