Kazakhstan oblasts transfer 100 million tenge ($680 thousand) each for restoration of Zhanaozen, Tengrinews.kz reports. “I have an instruction for all the oblasts: to transfer 100 million tenge each from the oblast budgets to the account set aside by Mangistau oblast Governor for this special fund (formed after Zhanaozen clashes). This is for you to have the reserve and keep moving,” Kazakhstan prime-Minister Karim Massimov said on December 28. Prime-Minister also instructed to compensate Zhanaozen residents for burnt cars and open the centers for prompt media coverage of the situation in Mangistau oblast.
