Kazakhstan boxer Serik Sapiyev has reached the final of the boxing competition in light welterweight (-69 kg) division at the Olympics in London, Tengrinews.kz reports. Sapiyev beat Russian Andrei Zamkov in the semi-final with the score of 18:12. The Kazakhstan boxer took control in the first round that finished with the score of 6:2. The jury gave the victory in second round to the Russian boxer with the score of 4:6. The third round finished with the score of 8:4 in favor of Sapiyev. In the final fight the Kazakhstan boxer will stand against British Freddei Evans, who won Ukraine’s Taras Shelestyuk (11:10). Serik Sapiyev won Venezuela’s Gabriel Perez in the quarterfinal with the score of 20:9.
