Kazakhstan Minister of Transport and Communications Askar Zhumagaliyev instructed to open Oital-Kainar road bypassing Kyrgyzstan until the end of 2012, he wrote in his Twitter. The instruction was given during his visit to Merke village in Zhambyl oblast, where Zhumagaliyev met with the representatives of South-Korean contractors working on West Europe-West China road. Oital-Kainar part of the road in Zhambyl oblast has been closed for transit transport since October 29, 2010 (the cars moved along Oital-Shu-Kainar route). These measures (opening the direct road from Oital to Kainar) are taken to ensure better security of the state border, where the existing road crosses the territory of Kyrgyzstan twice.
