Tengrinews.kz - Kazakhstan seismologists recorded an earthquake on the border with Kyrgyzstan.
According to the National Scientific Center for Seismological Observations and Research, the earthquake was recorded on March 24 at 11:17:41 AM Astana time.
"Coordinates of the earthquake: 42.579 N 79.304 E. The earthquake center is located on the border of Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan, 207 kilometers southeast of Almaty," the report says.
The earthquake was not felt on the territory of Kazakhstan. However, according to the Kyrgyz Institute of Seismology of the National Academy of Sciences, tremors were felt in Kyrgyzstan.
"The earthquake's source is located: on the territory of Kyrgyzstan, on the northern slopes of Terskey Ala-Too, 20 kilometers east of the village of Dzhergalan, 22 kilometers southeast of the village of Kyzyl-Dzhar, 72 kilometers northeast of the city of Karakol. In populated areas of the Kyrgyz Republic, the intensity of the earthquake was: the village of Dzhergalan - 2.5 points," the information states.
