A big International Entertainment, Tourist and Health Center will be constructed in Almaty oblast at the shore of Kapshagai reservoir. It will be a unique Tourist Center without equals in Central Asia, Tengrinews.kz reports referring to Amandyk Batalov, first deputy of Akim (Governor) of Almaty Oblast. According to the official, the state-run Zhana Ile will have a developed infrastructure, high-class hotels, entertainment and sport sites. Proximity of the Center to the National Nature Park Altyn Emel and Tamgaly Tas mountain area will attract both Kazakhstan and foreign tourists. The Akimat officials (oblast’s authorities) say that 11 000 hectares have been allotted for the construction. The general development plan has already been developed and is current being review by the government before approval. “All the interested state departments and agencies have worked well on the project and developed it in details. Our experts took into account the national specifics of Kazakh architecture and culture. Special attention was given to electric power networks, waste treatment facilities and sustainability of the future tourist center. Water protective measures and provision of convenient access roads are also important parts of the project,” Batalov said. According to him, the authorities are still resolving the funding issues. Last year it became known that Almaty oblast’s authorities were planning to construct a tourist center of international level in Almaty Oblast. However, the location of the new center was no disclosed at that point.
