People's Unity Day will be celebrated in a new format in 2011, Tengrinews.kz correspondent reported from the meeting of the Assembly of People of Kazakhstan at the Pyramid of Peace. Opened the meeting of the Assembly of People of Kazakhstan on April 18 Nursultan Nazarbayev said that May 1 - the former soviet Labor Solidarity Day – will be celebrated differently this year: as the Unity Day. “We'll celebrate the First of May in a new format this year. Parades and patriotic campaigns will take place all over Kazakhstan. The Spring Unity holiday will bring all the ethnic groups living in our country even closer together. This will be one of our most important holidays created after our common home-country – Kazakhstan - obtained the Independence 20 years ago,” Nazarbayev said. “Doors of our home-country are wide open for all our friends all over the world. We have established our unique and friendly Kazakhstani family. Congratulations to you on our new holiday, my fellow citizens,” the President said.
