A spot on the road caved in right under a car trapping its wheel in the middle of Almaty, Tengrinews.kz reports. The accident happened at the crossing of Dostyk and Abai streets. According to the driver of the damaged Lada Granta Karim Kassenov, he was driving down Dostyk street and was going to turn left to Abai street when he felt his car’s right wheel falling through the ground. “It is such a pity, the car is new, only two weeks old. It is disgraceful for the city that things like this happens in the city center,” the driver said. Police, representatives of the city administration and the city water service company arrived to the accident site. The car was pulled out. Road service teams are currently working at the site. Kassenov is not yet sure whether he will file a lawsuit against the city authorities. He needs to check on the damages first, he says. By Vladimir Prokopenko
