Kazakhstan mogul arranges kimono exhibition in Almaty

The exhibition of kimonos of the famous Japanese master Itchiku Kubota opened in the Central State Museum of Kazakhstan in Almaty yesterday, Kursiv reports. Kazakhstan oligarch and art patron Patokh Chodiev saved the unique garments from sale and preserved them to Japan several years ago. The businessman bought 104 of the exhibit items for 270 million yen (more than $3 million) and promised that the master pieces would remain the culture asset of Japan. After that the collection has been exhibited in many countries. The collection of kimanos has been to Hokkaido and other Japanese prefectures, the United States, Great Britain and France. Almaty residents can enjoy the works of Itchiku Kubota until the October 17. Then the collection will be exhibited in Russia and the UAE. Patokh Chodiev co-owners London-listed ENRC together with Alexander Mashkevitch and Adilzhan Ibragimov. The Eurasian Natural Resources Corporation PLC (ENRC) is a UK-listed, Kazakhstan-focused, multinational leading diversified natural resources company headquartered in London, United Kingdom. It has activities in integrated mining, processing, energy, logistics and marketing. According to Forbes Chodiev's fortune is estimated at $3.7 billion.
