As a result of the daytime trading on the Kazakhstan Stock Exchange, the weighted average dollar exchange rate amounted to 488.93 tenge, increasing by 1.43 tenge. It is worth noting that the official exchange rate set by the National Bank on October 16 is 487.42 tenge per dollar.
According to kurs.kz, the current average dollar buying rate in exchange offices in Almaty is 488.54 tenge, and the selling rate is 490.38 tenge. In Astana exchange offices, the U.S. currency is being bought at an average of 487.01 tenge and sold at 492.99 tenge.
Earlier, the Chairman of the National Bank of Kazakhstan, Timur Suleimenov, explained the possible reasons for the rise in price of the dollar.
In recent days, the dollar has increased in price against the tenge, reaching 491.74 tenge per dollar. During a briefing at the National Bank, journalists asked Suleimenov about the reasons for this sharp increase.
The Chairman of the National Bank explained that the rise in the dollar exchange rate is due "primarily to economic activity."
