Today Kazakhstan’s President Nursultan Nazarbayev has received Secretary of Iran Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) Saeed Jalili , Tengrinews.kz reports, citing President’s Press Service. “The talks were held at the Almaty-based Presidential Residence ahead of another round of international talks over Iran’s nuclear program. The talks involving reps of five UN Security Council member states, Germany and Iran will be held in Almaty”, the statement reads. According to the Press Service, President Nazarbayev emphasized that Kazakhstan as a nation hit by the severe repercussions of nuclear tests, plays a major role in global nuclear security efforts and reiterated that Kazakhstan hopes for a compromise in the talks and for resolution of the current disputes. In his turn, Saeed Jalili thanked Kazakhstan’s President for the opportunity to hold another round of the talks in Almaty and expressed hope for their successful completion. Earlier EU High Representative Catherine Ashton had announced that the talks of the group of six and reps of Iran would be held February 26 in Almaty, Kazakhstan’s biggest city.
