Tengrinews.kz – Residents of southern Kazakhstan felt the tremors of an earthquake early on March 11.
According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, citing the National Scientific Center for Seismological Observations and Research, the earthquake was recorded at 01:26 Astana time by the seismic station network.
The epicenter was located on the Kazakhstan-China border.
The estimated intensity of the tremors reached two points in Zharkent, Panfilov district, Zhetisu region.
Authorities stated that no casualties or structural damage had been reported.
Earlier, on March 8, an earthquake struck the East Kazakhstan region, with its epicenter 48 kilometers from the city of Zaysan in a mountainous area.
