How Yerbol became a para-athlete

Yerbol Khamitov began training in childhood and planned to connect his life with professional sports. At the age of 19, his leg was amputated after he was shot in the knee.

After losing his limb, he did not give up and continued to play sports. In 2017, he became a prize winner at the Kazakhstan Cup in grappling, receiving the championship belt "For the will to win", and in 2023, he won the title of world champion in para-skiing.

After winning the award, Khamitov spoke about his path in sports

A few hours after winning the bronze medal at the World Championship, Yerbol Khamitov published a post in which he thanked his loved ones and coach Anton Zhdanovich.

"Once, at the beginning of our careers, 7-8 years ago, we could dream of such victories, when it seemed that they were unattainable, but we believed, worked, dreamed of being who we are at the moment.

Probably, in fact, it is impossible to describe those feelings when you stand on a pedestal in front of hundreds of thousands of people, and you understand that everything is not in vain... But my goal has not yet been achieved. Invincible people do not exist," the para-athlete said.
