Tengrinews.kz – A massive outage hit the social media platform X on Monday, March 10, affecting thousands of users.
According to The Hill, data from Downdetector.com - a website that tracks service disruptions - showed that nearly 37,000 users reported issues with the platform early in the day Washington time (late evening in Astana).
While some users managed to regain access, the number of complaints surged again closer to noon Washington time (evening in Astana).
The incident comes just months after a similar widespread disruption on X. Last August, thousands of users reported technical glitches, including incorrect date displays in their feeds.
Elon Musk, the owner of X, confirmed that the platform is facing an ongoing large-scale cyberattack.
"X is under a massive cyberattack (which is still ongoing). We get attacked every day, but this one is using significant resources," Musk stated on his account.
He suggested that the attack could be the work of either a highly coordinated group or even a nation-state.
